| Nyaka Programs Volunteer Program
A teaching intern working one-on-one to help build English skills The Volunteer Program has been an important component of the Nyaka program since its beginning. 2008 has been our busiest year yet. We have already had several groups volunteering in the past few months. * The Sherwood Oaks Church from Bloomington, Indiana sent five volunteers to work on road maintenance and other projects at Nyaka and Kutamba. * College students from Prince Edward Island came and served as teaching interns for the month of March. * Volunteers came from Aspen, Colorado and helped with the groundbreaking ceremony at Kutamba and also spent time teaching in the schools. * Nurses with a Purpose came and did a health clinic at Nyaka and Kutamba and provided health services to over 700 individuals. Contact us if you would like to volunteer at Nyaka and Kutamba AIDS Orphans School. We are always interested in people with backgrounds/experience in education, health care, social work, agriculture, building trades, english among many other areas as well. |
